CSCS card information

The majority of our staff are CSCS card holders.

What is a CSCS Card?

CSCS stands for Construction Skills Certification Scheme. The card is required on most construction sites. Being a CSCS card holder is proof that you have qualified a Health & Safety test and Environment Test. The CSCS Card  identification number acts as proof of competence in the landscape industry and will provide any contractor with information regarding an employee’s Health & Safety knowledge as well as any qualifications linked with the industry. It is there to make sure that each employee has the training to keep themselves and the people around them safe.

All our staff are currently in the process of application for the new LISS cards. The LISS (Landbased Industry Skills Scheme) works in affiliation with Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) yet is now catered to the Landbased trades industry. Many aspects of the CSCS Health & Safety testing was too specific to the construction industry. CSCS did not entirely encompass the skills set and Health & Safety aspects that the were required for the landbased industry. The British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI), in affiliation with CSCS, then formed this specific landbased Health & Safety accreditation scheme. The new LISS accreditation is specifically suited to relevant Health & Safety scenarios within our industry whilst still retaining a Health & Safety awareness of working on an active construction development.
